Call For Papers For Fall Conference Opens Next Week

Categories: 2010 SBOUC Dave Rathbun @ 7:19 am

On April 5 we can start submitting ideas (abstracts) for the fall conference. This year we’re not going to Dallas! 😀 The conference this year is October 4th through 7th and is located in Orlando, Florida. The host hotel is the Dolphin Hotel which is very near Walt Disney World. I have stayed at other hotels nearby, but never at the Dolphin (or the sister hotel the Swan). I’m looking forward to the opportunity to go.

The tracks topics this year are probably fairly predictable… there will once again be a track on Xcelsius, on Explorer, as well as old standards like Universe Design, Crystal, and Web Intelligence.

I hope to see a lot more about XI 4.0 too. 😎

Dave, do you know if ASUG membership is required to attend/present?

Hi, Deanna, for this meeting ASUG membership is not required to attend. Membership is never required to present, or at least that is my understanding. I believe that ASUG members do get a discount on the conference pass.

Dave, is there a standard template for the abstracts? Or more information on how to submit them? I can’t seem to find anything on the sap site. Thanks!

Hi Dave, How can I get on the mailing list for the call for papers? I changed jobs late last year so my contact information changed.

    Thanks!

Sara, I am looking for the information myself. 🙂 As soon as I get a link to share I will be sure to post it. Dell, I am not sure they have a mailing list. At the very least you would think they could email the list of speakers from the last conference, and I don’t believe they have done that.

The call for papers is being delayed. I’m trying to find out if they will extend the deadline once they do open up for submissions. I will post details when they become available.

Has the call for papers come out yet? I really want to submit something this year. I’m not on the list of speakers from last year because I was on the Program Committee instead, plus I’ve changed employers, so the email address they had on file for me is no longer good.

    Thanks Dave!

Dell, I have not seen a final confirmation yet. I have heard that they will extend the speaker submission deadline to make up for the late start, but that will be confirmed with the formal announcement.

The call for speakers is now open:

I tried to “log in” using my profile from last year, and it didn’t work. I am assuming that the GBN speaker profiles were not converted over, but I have asked for confirmation on whether that is the case or not. If not, we can always create a new profile.
