Hi, Steve, yes... there is a conference in Dallas this year. The registration is open now and you can still get the early-bird rate.

Hi, RV, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I have to make it a policy to only answer questions directly related to something I've posted here to avoid too many people expecting personal support. If you have a question or clarification on an existing blog post I'm certainly going to take a look. Otherwise I am going to suggest that you post your question to the general community at BOB.

Thanks for understanding, good luck with your project.

Hi Dave . Here is a typical scenario which i dont knw whether to put in univere section or reports section. I know it is not a best data model design but wld like to knw if WE can solve it at report or designer level.

I have a cust dim , Fact , Product dim ,Product Grp dim.
Here my product grp Id foreign key column is getting values from both product dim as well as Product group dim. ie.,

Fact. Prodgrp Id = Prod.Product id
Fact. Prodgrp Id = Prod Group.Prodgrp ID

The report requirement is :

Cust code// Prod grp desc // Prod Desc // Total Amount( from fact)
1 A - $100
2 B - $120
3 - X $110

I tried alising ,merging and all but cld not put togethr Prod and Prod Grp desc togethr.

Ur help wld be gr8ly appreciated.
Best Regards.

Nick, yes it does have a title. I don't remember what it is. I submitted two ideas, one called "Return of the Variables" with a focus on reporting, and one on the Universe Designer once again. The design one was selected, the variables one was not.

Mark, I am very excited to be going to TechEd. I will be attending the Community Day on Monday, and then gathering whatever I can from the conference the rest of the week. I intend to be a sponge. It has been a very long time since I have been able to go to a conference without having to worry about preparing a presentation. I plan to write a number of blog posts about the experience to share with the BusinessObjects community, since I suspect that for many (like it is for me) this is a "new" event that has become available for consideration because of the acquisition.
