Hi, Dallas, and welcome. I use the same recipe with a number of variations... I will use M&M chips sometimes too. I also have a recipe for Double-Chocolate Dave Cookies that are chocolate with chocolate chips, or on occasion chocolate with peanutbutter chips. Yum. :D

Excellent recipe, Dave. My wife and I created a batch of these last night. Yum! Following your example, we baked the cookies on a SILPAT silicone mat which contributes to the texture - crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. BTW, Kroger makes some really great Private Selection chocolate chips using Belgian chocolate. The chips are a bit larger than the usual Nestle chips. We mixed 1/2 bag of dark chocolate chips with 1/2 bag of milk chocolate chips.

Hi, Mike, and welcome to my blog with your first comment. The suger is classified as 'wet stuff' because it gets added to the same bowl. :) I use two bowls when making cookies, and the first gets the wet stuff like eggs and vanilla and sugar while the other gets the dry stuff like flour and salt.

I should mention that these measurements are all "US-based" so a stick of butter means just that, one stick. The actual measurement is 1/4 of a pound.

Thinking of trying this - although i'm not sure how sugar gets classified as "wet stuff" nor how much a stick of butter is - more than a dash but less than a heap?
